| 1071 |
Rector Bertran and mage Gvidion fight each other in a duel following a heated theoretical dispute. Gvidion nearly loses the fight but at the last moment uses a short dagger and wins. The defeated Bertran is obliged to comply with the terms of the fight: mention his opponent's theory in all his subsequent scientific papers. |
| 1072 |
Rector Bertran, the head of the School of Alchemists and King Leon's chief alchemist, writes his famous collection of scrolls describing everything known to the science of alchemy at the time, from its basic principles up to its most advanced theories. Only a small portion of these scrolls are still in existence today and they are of enormous scientific importance because alchemy has been steadily declining since then. |
